Seems my fears were well grounded for the future on new orleans. The Nation has the coverage with Jeremy Scahill and Naomi Klein reporting the story that the MSM is ignoring (their temporary backbone has long sunk into the muck, sure there were some memos from up top...)

Ambulance Chasers, Big Time
I've had a sinking feeling lately. There are things about the aftermath of Katrina, details, that just don't feel right. Tom Dispatch, as usual, clarifies the situation: predatory capitalism. Remember Naomi Klein's The Rise of Disaster Capitalism. Not just overseas it seems, although NO always seemed to view itself as a country apart and no doubt the bushes minions feel the same.
